GLS can ship hazardous goods in certain categories within Germany by arrangement with the responsible depot. Trained staff at these locations will provide advice on the issue of transporting hazardous items. If you are interested, please get in touch.

Extremely dangerous substances are excluded from hazardous goods shipping, such as radioactive, explosive or highly toxic substances or where there is a risk of contagion.

Authorised categories for hazardous goods shipping with GLS*:

2 Gases Classification code 1-3, 4F, 9 and toxic gases
3 Flammable liquids
4.1 Flammable solids Classification code SR and FO
5.1 Flammable (oxidising) substances Packaging group I and classification code O3, OT1, OF, OS, OW, OTC
8 Corrosive substances
9 Other hazardous substances and objects Classification code M1 to M3 and M8 to M10

*according to Appendices A and B of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Hazardous Goods by Road (ADR) and the German Ordinance on the Carriage of Hazardous Goods by Road, Rail and Ship (Gefahrgutverordnung Strasse, Eisenbahn und Binnenschifffahrt: GGVSEB).
