What steps do senders need to take to use the DepositService?
To use our DepositService, senders must take the following steps:
- Query the desired storage location in the order process: During the ordering process, you as the shipper should ask your customers about their preferred storage location (e.g. garage, garden shed, veranda).
- Specification of the storage location when creating the GLS parcel label: The storage location selected by the recipient must be specified when the parcel label is created.
- Issue of the parking permit: By specifying the drop-off location, you give our parcel carriers permission to deposit the parcel at the specified location.
- Indicates a safe and weather-protected storage location: Advise your customers to choose a safe location that is protected from the weather and, if possible, not directly visible from the street.
This means that the parcel is delivered contactlessly and flexibly to the desired drop-off point on the first delivery attempt, without the recipient having to be present or sign for it.
