ClimatePartner is the offsetting partner for emissions compensation. As part of the collaboration, ClimatePartner acquires Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) on behalf of General Logistics Systems B.V. (GLS B.V.) on the voluntary offsetting market - i.e. verified emission reductions that confirm that a certain amount of greenhouse gas emissions has been reduced, avoided or removed through climate protection projects. These VERs correspond to the amount of greenhouse gas emissions calculated for GLS Germany that are to be offset (e.g. approx. 140,000 tons of CO2 equivalents for the 2025/26 financial year).
ClimatePartner issues its own offsetting certificates based on these VERs for GLS Germany's business customers who make use of offsetting as a service on demand. These certificates confirm that the amount of greenhouse gas emissions stated on the certificates has been offset.
