What is the difference between standard delivery time and guaranteed delivery time at GLS?
Standard running time is a non-binding guide - based on experience and the usual parcel shipping processes. It indicates how long a parcel normally takes to arrive, but does not constitute a guaranteed delivery promise. The actual delivery time can be influenced by factors such as weather, public holidays or customs clearance.
One guaranteed delivery time on the other hand, express delivery is a fixed performance promise. Here we commit to delivery within a specific, binding time frame.
- Standard running time = Estimated, not guaranteed shipping time
- Guaranteed delivery time = Binding delivery promise within a specified period of time
