What is the purpose of the customs power of attorney and how can it be issued?
The customs power of attorney enables us to to declare and clear customs on your behalf.
Important points:
- Customs clearance takes place in direct representation
- You stay Importer and declarant under customs law
- We act in your name and for your account
Legal basis:
- Required in accordance with Art. 150 in conjunction with Art. 19 of the Union Customs Code (UCC)
This is how you issue the customs authorization:

- GLS (download via the GLS website)
Important: GLS cannot handle customs clearance for your shipment without a customs authorization.
