What does GLS understand by NB goods (non-sortable / non-bandable goods)?
NB goods ("non-belt-capable goods") are consignments that cannot be sorted automatically due to their shape or nature and are therefore processed manually.
Typical examples:
- Tires, rolls or bags
- Canisters, buckets or metal crates
- Bundled or irregularly shaped packages
- Wooden crates or fabric bales
Important difference:
- NB-Gut: transportable, but manual processing required
- Not suitable for sorting: possibly excluded from shipping
Advantages for companies:
- Shipping of bulky or unusual goods also possible
- Transparent costs and clear surcharges
- Secure and reliable processing
