Social Responsibility
We are committed in various ways to supporting people in need. The regional and local initiatives we support include free parcel transport and assistance for organisations and institutions. On a local level, we support clubs, nurseries, schools, hospitals, and hospices in many places.
In our collaborations, we value appreciation, respect, and understanding.

The Bio Bread Box: ensuring a tasty and healthy breakfast
For many years, the GLS depots in Hamburg and Tornesch have supported the Hamburg Bio Bread Box campaign. This year, we delivered around 16,000 boxes in 300 parcels to schools in Hamburg. Thousands of children enjoyed a healthy breakfast in cool, reusable boxes.
The day before, colleagues from the two depots assisted with the packing effort, where the boxes were filled with delicious ingredients by volunteers and loaded into GLS delivery vehicles.
Through initiatives led by our employees, we support the preservation of biodiversity at our sites.
Whether through wildflower strips for insects, tree-planting projects or naturally designed green spaces: we create habitats, food sources and shelter for animals and plants, helping to foster a healthy environment.

The leading employer rating platform has once again awarded GLS Germany the TOP COMPANY seal for high employee satisfaction. This status can only be achieved through independent evaluations of employees.
Of the companies evaluated, only around 5% qualified for the seal. Compared to our competitors, we perform best in both score and recommendation.
As a family-friendly company, we are a member of the “Success Factor Family” network and support our employees in balancing work and family life. For example, we offer flexible part-time models, kindergarten subsidies or the option to work from home.
