Certified quality and sustainability
In addition to expanding our ESG initiatives, we actively participate in external certifications and ratings. This approach not only emphasises our commitment but also incorporates valuable input from independent experts. These evaluations promote transparency and help us effectively advance our ESG strategy using the feedback received.
GLS Group received the EcoVadis Silver Medal* in 2025 with 71 points, ranking in the top 15% of companies assessed globally.
*This certification is renewed annually, evaluates sustainability across Environment, Procurement, Ethics and Labor & Human Rights.
GLS is listed with its sustainability profile on the EcoVadis platform under General Logistics Systems BV (GLS Group).
GLS, as part of International Distribution Services Ltd (IDS), once again completed the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) rating with a “B” grade (on a scale of A to D-). The CDP rating assesses companies’ progress towards environmental stewardship. The latest assessment was completed in September 2025. The questionnaire are submitted and reassessed annually.

DEKRA Certification GmbH has verified the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transport chain operations of General Logistics Systems B.V.. The reasonable assurance of the information provided in the GHG statement, as well as its conformity with the criteria set out in ISO14083:2023 has been confirmed. ISO 14083:2023 provides the standardised methodology for quantifying GHG emissions from transport chain operations.
The conformity was attested in Verification Report No. A23071350 and issued on 09.10.2025. The organizational scope covered all GLS subsidiaries in Europe and North America as well as the European net-work provider GLS International.
Our comprehensive quality assurance includes clearly defined work processes, quality guidelines with inspection routines, and regular audits. Quality metrics are continuously managed.
We guarantee, monitor and improve our quality with a Europe-wide quality management system, meeting high internationally recognised standards in accordance with DIN ISO 9001:2015.
We act in an environmentally conscious manner and implement sustainability projects in all national companies. All European national companies have received ISO 14001:2015 certification for our environmental management system. The globally valid and recognised standard is one of the most important for environmental management in manufacturing and service companies.
In Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Ireland and Spain, we have received compliance certification according to GDP (Good Distribution Practice). The GDP guideline is mandatory throughout the EU for pharmaceutical wholesale. This means that in six countries we meet the strict requirements for the safe, hygienic and product-compliant transport of human medicines. Additional GLS companies are to be certified.
As GLS, we calculate emissions per parcel based on EN 16258-2013-03 (standard for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions in transport and logistics). Compliance with the standard has been confirmed by DEKRA.
In July 2025, GLS Germany was certified according to the international standard ISO 50001. This confirms our commitment to energy efficiency, climate protection and sustainable improvements. Through a structured energy management system, we are specifically reducing energy consumption and making an important contribution to sustainability.
